The Estimator is responsible for managing the estimating process for assigned projects as well as supporting other estimating efforts within the Company.  This individual will collaborate with others to create the greatest competitive advantage possible while maintaining superior client satisfaction. Individual responsibilities include integration of project safety requirements, cultivation of suppliers and subcontractor engagement, development of winning strategies, quantity surveys and preliminary construction schedules.  This role is also responsible to attend and/or facilitate pre-tender meetings, strategy formulation, pricing review, subcontractor scope review workshops as well as turn-over and buy-out meetings on awarded projects. Flintco Industrial's operations are based in Houston, TX with expected travel based on project needs across the country. Individual assignments will vary based on project scope, phase, and job requirements.



  • Coordinate, supervise and review work of assigned personnel to insure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical support and/or prepare estimates as required. Assist in making the "sale". Track awarded contracts as required. May include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit/cost savings; procuring materials, etc.
  • Assist Project Managers during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids and estimate as required.
  • Assists in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared by other employees temporarily assigned to estimating.
  • Support Bid Captain and/or Estimator on complex packages or as workload demands.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as required.
  • Assist clients and designers in systems selections, budgeting, cost containment, value engineering.
  • Perform additional duties per supervisor's direction.



Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate group work effort.



4 Year engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.



5-10 years of extensive industrial construction industry and estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.
