The Senior Superintendent is typically assigned to projects of significant size or complexity that require multi-level project supervision over a variety of tasks and crews involving close coordination of subcontractors and suppliers. Examples of this would be public or private sector projects where we are the general contractor or large-scale private industrial or commercial projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to prepare detailed construction projects plans, schedules and estimates, read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, calculate square footage, volumes and percentages using a personal computer or calculator, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, prepare and update project schedules, transmittals and submittals using personal computer software, manage large groups of personnel and to accomplish desired results through subordinate levels of management with little or no supervision.
At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in construction and management of field personnel.
Special Job Dimensions
Exposure to all forms of weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, humid, windy) for part or the entire work day. Exposure to constant or intermittent noise of a level sufficient to cause distraction. May be required to work 10-hour days for six or seven consecutive days for extended periods.
