Our Estimators are responsible for planning coordinating and directing estimating functions for a particular geographic location or segment of the company.  

Responsibilities

All duties and responsibilities include the following, however, other duties may be assigned. To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Coordinate, supervise and review work of assigned personnel to insure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical support and/or prepare estimates as required. Assist in making the "sale". Track awarded contracts as required. May include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit/cost savings; procuring materials, etc.
  • Assist Project Managers during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids and estimate as required.
  • Assists in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared by other employees temporarily assigned to estimating.
  • Support Bid Captain and/or Estimator on complex packages or as workload demands.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as required.
  • Assist clients and designers in systems selections, budgeting, cost containment, value engineering.
  • Perform additional duties per supervisor's direction.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate group work effort.

 

Education

4 Year engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.

 

Experience

5-10 years of extensive construction industry and estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.
